Iwent to my cousins wedding in Montana. Which sounds ordinary enough until you factor in thirty prissy Persian doctors trying to walk over cow pies in Armani suites and chiffon dresses and stiletto heals. Next to the brides family in mud-caked work boots and denim. The two groups got along well enough though, and I could barely take my eyes off the expansive skies and beautiful vistas of Glacier National Park. …

I recently spent two weeks in Paris visiting a friend from high school. I decided to spend the time trying to live as a local, and absorbing as much art as I could from the museums….
I set out on a cross country road trip with my friend Ingmar. We drove from Los Angeles to New York, down to Florida to return Ingmar’s car to his father. Ingmar and I have traveled together before, and make for an interesting odd couple. He’s tall, charming, child like in his manner, and I’m salty and sassy….
I was reeling from the hilarity that is twitter.com/Shitmydadsays when I came across this gem:
“What are you listening to?…I know who Hall & Oates are god dammit.
It’s the mustache guy and the gay man.”…
Sometimes I get into a weird music mantra mode where I can’t help but listen to the same track on repeat. I don’t know if I ever went this far though. This week for some reason, the song I couldn’t get enough of was this Knife track, where I just listened to it on loop for 3 days…..
I finally got my record player up and running. After putting so much effort in pairing the right amp, monitor speakers, needle, it’s such a joy to hear my music come out and fill the room. Some of the records I’ve been playing on it are albums I have on CD or digital, and it’s really interesting to hear the difference on the records.

A glimpse at objective reality swimming just beyond the sizzle of my perception.
This morning I lay starring into the swelling morning sky beyond slanted roofs and naked branches.
Exhausted from a sleepless night my mind sparking and slipping from underneath itself,
suddenly tumbled over into a foreign expanse.

My friend Bob (female) was throwing her birthday party Tuesday.
And decided to make it a roast. She rented out a back room in a bar
and invited all her friends to come prepared to burn her with some sassy material….
I was hanging out with an old friend from high school I hadn’t seen in years, when she remembered she had a photo of me that I had never seen. At the time she had me pose with a couple of my paintings, for a photography class she was taking at the end of high school, and I had moved away to college before she had a chance to develop it….
A little over two years ago I signed up with an English website that is pretty much a one shop stop for anything music related on the internet. Whether I’m looking up info on a musician, lyrics to a song, tour dates/venues, recommendations, editorials etc….
These are the tracks of music that got stuck in my head
in the course of the last six months….

I thought I would write about my experience with my no talking Tuesdays this last year.
It has proven to be more beneficial, informative, interesting, consequential and difficult than I anticipated.
The good news is my resolution to continue for the rest of my life is as strong as when I started.
I’m excited to see how my experience continues to develop. Here are some thoughts so far….

For reasons I don’t understand, I have a real soft spot for poignant Christmas music.
Last week I steeped myself in Low nonstop for three days.
On the third day I found myself continuously repeating two songs off the Christmas album.

This Tuesday found me stalking the halls of a Toys R Us. I thought it was blasphemous to my childhood that I should now live right near a Toys R Us (Which would have been something I would have only dared dream as a child) and that I’ve strayed so far from my roots, that I don’t even care.

I thought I would take a brief snapshot of my writing process with the completion of two new pieces and a quick summery of my writing to this point.
